"Devin if you don't write this it won't get written, and you'll be sitting here in three months wishing you'd written it so you can finally move on to the next thing you want to struggle with writing."
I don't really think of it as 'motivation' – I enjoy writing and want to write, so it's more about giving myself the time and focus to do so. Over the last couple of years I've done a lot of writing while commuting by train; there's fewer distractions in that space & it's become akin to a habit now.
Long-term goals are nearly impossible with ADHD because the future isn't meaningfully real, so going 'I want to write because of [X] in the future' rarely helps. If you can find a regular occasion to write and form a habit of it then it usually becomes much easier to focus on writing.
Having a physical time/space that you've mentally dedicated to writing really helps, though. Go to a café, maybe, and write while having a drink. Being at home is harder because there are many distractions/tasks there, but a dedicated writing corner could work.
Finally, I find it helpful to write for a particular amount of time per session, rather than aiming for a wordcount. It's like a mini deadline, which helps with focus. I get 30 mins on the train; sometimes I write 100 words, sometimes 400, but I pretty much always write something and it adds up.
