Dr. Tony Ogburn created an ob-gyn clinic in the Rio Grande Valley to provide maternal care to an underserved community. After S.B. 8 passed, Ogburn told his colleagues, “The standard of care can now be construed as a felony.”

I didn’t mean it to be offensive. I just meant that the red states that embrace cruelty may change course only when they encounter the consequences such as losing their physicians.
Who can blame them for leaving? “Do no harm” can happen in states where there is not a bounty on these professionals who not only worked their asses off to become doctors, but who do not want a target on their heads if they live up to their hippocratic oath. They can’t do so in oppressed states.
Texas is so terrible, according to the New Yorker (based in Manhattan that is extremely unsafe, full of hobos, where the robberies are legalized, people are leaving NYC in droves). Texas is amazing, dynamic, growing.
That's ok. I am sure there are some pro-birth Instagram influencer moms who are experts in home births and can take up the slack. Plus -- bonus -- they can recommend raw milk and vaccine avoidance.
I can’t believe this country has decided it was ok to kill women instead of give them proper medical treatment. Anyone studying medicine needs to go to school in a blue state because they won’t be properly educated in a red one. I’m alive because I had an abortion when I had a medical reason for it.
The laws in the most restrictive states were created largely by men who have little to no understanding of pregnancy and childbirth. They're callous, arrogant idiots.
But that's not really why. It helps, but the actual reason why is that women having access to abortion makes it much, much harder for men to exploit women since weaponizing biology against us has always been the most effective tool in their oppression toolbox.
I say this after personal experience in standing up for choice:
They don’t care that women die so long as they can punish the little hussies that might choose an abortion. And they will accuse you of advocating murder while calling you the nastiest of names. Gleefully.
Hence the reason I left Twitter. Everything I posted that MAGA responded to involved name calling or body shaming. There never was any constructive discussion.
Yes! And if I mentioned that I past the age of having children I was called dumb c-word because it doesn’t effect me, so why do I care. Geez, these people!

Try that again & include the reason why:
REPUBLICANS
EVERY WOMEN WHO IS HARMED OR DIES IS ON REPUBLICANS
GET OUT OF OUR VAGINAS!
If that's a thing. I want that to be a thing.

Do.
No.
Harm.
