Gaetz may be the most challenging one for Trump, however.
Can Trump make recess appointments? That would require the Senate to break out of the pro forma sessions they’ve been holding.
John Thune said recess appointments are on the table, but it’s going to take a lot for him to get there—especially for these nominees.
They’ll immediately roll over.
*I did just see a headline about Gaetz withdrawing, but I think that’s because he’s universally hated.
