I was in Nepal last year, you can see China's influence everywhere in helping them build infrastructure or restore UNISCO world heritage sites damaged during recent earthquake. These are things that go a long way.

Note the sign says "China Aid -for shared future". Nepal is located right under Tibet another proud independent country that is now occupied and part of China.

A "shared future" meaning China's share will eventually become 100% as China will absorb Nepal. In the short term, Nepal will be financially obligated to China for their "help."
