Neither of these New York Times homepage headlines informs us that Trump’s claim was bogus when he blamed diversity hiring as a cause of the DC air disaster. Both of the stories do indeed debunk it. But more people read headlines than read stories. NYT consistently goes vague on its homepage.

Reporters and photographers put their names on their work. Why not headline writers? It's such a simple accountability measure, yet I've never seen it even discussed.
