I called into a friend one time, fox was on, I was so disappointed, my face fell and I said oh you watch fox.. after a convo she asked where I get my news.. I said dailybeans, meidastouch.. she still voted trump unfortunately π’
Never to return. I went to a hair salon and the lady was wearing the red KKK hat, walked out and found a salon with women of different colors, and different heritage. Couldnβt be happier.
I go to the gym. I usually hop on a treadmill or other cardio machine. When I turn the screen on, it will show the last channel that was watched. I always turn it to something else before I get off, usually a nature channel or something more pleasant.
What sucks is I work in a federal dod building and there are tvs everywhere most playing faux news. I wish Biden would have had the balls to ban fox news at federal agencies.
I *just* did this last week
Our local tire store ... needed a quote on 4 new tires
And there's Fox on 2 tv's in the waiting room
Walked in, stopped, saw both tv's, turned around and left
Reminds me of walking into my dentist office in early Covid and no staff wearing masks all hacking and coughing without covering their mouthsβ¦and I walked out
Wish it were feasible where I live. It seems like at least every other business with a TV, including one of my favorite restaurants (fortunately, I almost always get takeout when I go there) is tuned to it. :(
I'm glad they've decided to pull it off the TV's at the local VA hospital. Replaced with the Hallmark channel & ME TV (all reruns). People are already agitated there, don't need to fuel that fire.
I give them a chance to switch it first. We were trying a new Italian restaurant, and they had it on in the back of the restaurant. I politely told them to switch the channel, or it would ruin our dinner, and they graciously obliged.
I got a new girl to do my hair- I found out the last one is a Trump supporter, I had been going to her for 10 years! She wonβt be getting any more business from me.
When a businessperson aires their political beliefs publicly they risk isolating potential clients/customers.
Just ask Mike Lindell. Along with, I'm sure, many local establishments.
Without a doubt! I am only buying locally from companies that support democracy! There is an app βGoods Unite Usβ. It tells you who supports democrats.
Problem. In my area that's nearly 90% of all establishments
So I just remove my hearing aids and spend my time there shouting at folks and misinterpreting what they're saying
I get what need. Get out. And have some old man fun in between
I was in a local shop here the other day and as he was ringing me up I saw a trump sticker on his register. I said, excuse me but you need to cancel this sale, I dont do business with MAGA. He wasn't happy.
Iβm out and Iβm telling them why before I leave. Iβm not giving my money to businesses that display anti-democracy and racism-adjacent platforms.
But before you walk out, walk up to that TV and quietly change the channel whenever possible. Because we all have a responsibility to make the world a better place. And also it's just a super satisfying thing to do.
I work for a very big welding company. Iβm a grunt. About a year ago they put tvβs in the cafeteria and I noticed Fox News was on one of them. Some good person must have said something and that lasted about 2 days
Been doing that walkout for years - 10 at least. When I worked in the hospital I would tell the front desk that patients/families were complaining when FOX was on. I lied.
Yep, right out into the parking lot and straight to my car where I'll keep changing the channel on any TV's in operation at the business remotely until they get pissed and turn their TV's off (which I'll keep turning back on of course).
Christmas tree farm I have visited and purchased from conveniently close to me posted a huge Trump/Vance sign. Thatβs the end of that. Wonβt be going back.
Or if you have DeSantis signs plastered on the walls or live sized cardboard cutouts of Trump and Vance or are flying the confederate flag (yes Iβve walked out of all the businesses and restaurants doing this)
I had occasion to be in VA office frequently. Fox on tv. I finally went to the desk officer and said β this isnβt news. Itβs propaganda. Please put on HGTV like every other professional office in this townβ. He did.
Iβve been doing this since Obama was President and Fox said so many bad things about him. I canβt tell you how many businesses have called me and asked why I left the waiting room and didnβt keep my appointment. I just tell them Iβm going to do business in an environment Iβm comfortable in.
You might be hard-pressed to find a WY hotel/motel where Fox isn't playing in the lobby. I get out my book. I've had better luck asking to watch NHL during March Madness. At least I got one TV in the bar.
It's everywhere. I lodged a complaint with HR because my employer was piping it into all of the buildings where we had offices. HR said, "It's a news station," and was confused. Fortunately, they begrudgingly changed to sports broadcasting. Small victory.
The son of our local plumber walked into our polling place on Election Day and quietly said to his friends (but loud enough to hear), βLetβs go Brandon.β My business goes elsewhere now.

Been a mantra of mine for some years now...
Getting easier cause at this stage of life, I pretty much stay home. π€·
What a mistake.

Faux News being on is like a blaring red flashing light, indicating racist, propaganda, misogynistic behaviors.
It kills me, but we have not gone backβand will not go back. π
Every. Single. One.
How can this be?
