While Corey Bookers on the Senate floor fighting the good fight I’ve gotta ask why no one since 1957 felt passionate enough about anything to break Strom Thurmond’s filibuster record against the Civil Rights Act.

Because beforehand, rambling for a whole 24 hours on the senate floor was seen as the mark of a crazy person? Given what Thurmond's position was, it wasn't a good look on him.
