Posting this immediately after approving 4 coal mine extensions (that, according to campaigners, could lead to 850m tonnes of CO2 being emitted) is... quite a choice.

Well done Tanya! Whoo hoo 🥳🎉 party time - she must really want a boardroom seat with a coal company & so has sold out our & her own children’s futures. So goooood.
Were those final sign offs a formality after approval was given previously, subject to conditions being met?
If those companies addressed the required work is it reasonable to say, tough luck, you've just wasted $?? in carrying out the ordered works?
Yeah, Tanya being deceptive. Not a good look. But even coal mine extensions seem uneconomic given the scale of transition to renewables here now and reduction in demand from big importers like China. The world needs to hasten the renewables transition to ensure coal’s economic redundancy asap.
@tanyaplibersekmp.bsky.social ??? What are you doing? So disappointing for our children and beyond. #VoteIndependent No difference between the #COALition and #Labor #EnvironmentalGenocide
When is a coal mine extension not a new coal mine? When Labor spin doctors say so. I am sure the atmosphere differentiates between emissions from a mine extension and a new mine. Tricky chasing factional support for leadership and being Env Minister but no doubt LEAN will fall into line. #auspol
I cannot recall a duopoly ever being so keen to expose themselves as utter hypocritical, corrupted, rubbish.......imho the emperor will have new clothes, and they will be teal from head to toe
Indeed. Here’s what happens when you call out your local Labor MP on those approvals. In our case Alicia Payne in Canberra: you get accused of being rude, and then they say it’s not a new mine. Something, something Net Zero.

Boggabri 242.86 Mt CO2
Caval Ridge coal 473 Mt
Lake Vermont 347 Mt
Australia's national 2030 target is 350 Mt.
Infuriating us all so we engage with the post.
Destroying the climate for clout. That’s some Jake Paul level content right there.

The LNP doesn't care about global heating.
Labor just pretends to.
Both are in the pocket of the fossil fuel lobby.
And neither are capable of responsibly managing the nation's future. #auspol
