theres a time and place for having an attitude and its not it when other people who may be making an honest mistake or may be new to a website. im so tired of seeing people post over and over and each time they do absolutely nada and just assume everyone has the same information they have

worth to mention you may upload 1 nsfw photos and 3 sfw to a total of 4 in one post and the label can only be applied collectively, so be aware using labels will flag every picture in a post even if you mean for the sfw ones to remain visible!
you can adjust your settings in Settings > Moderation

but wait, there's more: bluesky has a "wonderful" bot that dishes out cartoon nudity/suggesive labels often falsely, the settings for this is NOT included in your settings/moderation tab nor can you apply them yourself.
to adjust these, you have to do so through the https://bsky.app/profile/moderation.bsky.app page

That one drives me insane. Like I marked the post for nudity or sex, and it slaps that on there and collapses the preview. Did that on the most nonsexual comedy ass drawing ever.

happens often to me too :') one time I marked adult content because it was, then it slapped a no-nudity sexual cartoon label on it which I had to appeal to let them know it HAS nudity lmao, its. a whole thing. the fact that its so removed from the settings and you cant apply it is an extra headache

it shouldnt be too much to ask people to give each other some grace and benefit of the doubt if they don't seem to know or understand something immediately, especially when they are new to the site and its culture about how certain things are expected that they didn't have to do on another platform

I also see people complaining about other people sharing unlabeled NSFW posts and it always makes me nervous because I don't think I would know if it was labeled or not since all of my filters are off 🫠 if there is a way to tell, as a newbie to the site, I haven't figured it out yet

you cant tell if others have labeled their posts if you have nsfw filters enabled and shown to you, just see labels on your own posts! you can either turn it down to be shown a warning or check from an alt account, but no other way besides :(

This is nice. I sometimes follow people who have great art and I don’t see nsfw of after a few scrolls of their posts and then the first time I see them it’s nsfw and I’m just in a public place😭

Not gonna lie I would appreciate an update similar to toggling mandatory alt text that would ask us to double check to see if it needs a label. I've had a handful of times that I posted NSFW and completely forgot. 🙃

also I wanna know like...unless someone has their settings set to filter nsfw out and is seeing it anyway..how do they know? you can literally only see labels applied to your own posts. you cannot see what labels other people have applied to their post, even if they label properly lol.

if you have set nsfw to be warned/not shown, you should see what label is on the post or not see it at all, so if with those settings you see a post like that it would mean the post is not labeled. but if you have turned off all filters and its the wild west, yeah, you arent shown what labels are on

You can draw/share NSFW while also filtering it out. The default is set to warn, not hide.

I'm talking abt ppl making accusations who aren't filtering though so they'd never be able to tell bc theyre getting everything anyway. If someone is *primarily* a nsfw acct chances are they're not filtering. I'm just simply agreeing that the passive aggressiveness & attitudes aren't helpful :/

How do you know who is and isn't filtering? I've seen a few NSFW art accounts that post without labeling, and have completely ignored requests to label their art. I don't like the passive aggressiveness either, but there are still lots of artists that are blatantly doing it wrong on purpose.

Yes this is if you have it yo filter. If you don't filter it doesn't show you labels so you can't tell whether someone is labeling, which is what I was saying lol

You don’t need to worry about that though. You label so that other people can choose whether and how to filter. Any other labels are Labelers or just tags..

Also something that gets lost in translation: Dont yell at people to "tag their stuff properly". Tagging for you means sfw and nsfw. Tagging for us is... well...
