Had remote GP consult where Heidi was used. Saw notes afterwards on NHS App. They were VERY long! Must admit I wanted to take a red editing-pen to them. P.S. And it's not just patient privacy that needs to be watched. During my Heidi session with remote GP I bitched a bit about a hospital consultant I hadn't been happy with. Thankfully hadn't named him! Didn't end up in my notes but I was unnerved afterwards about where do the actual RECORDINGS go!

You can set it for level of detail and the top settings is very detailed indeed. The recordings aren’t stored.

Depends on whether you trust the private tech company. Or the company they sell on to in the future. I did an Ancestry DNA test last year. Ticked the boxes for DNA not to be used for research and for sample to be destroyed straight after. No way for me to know for sure if that actually happens.

It really depends what you see the purpose of notes
1. Coding / payment
2. Communication
3. Consolidation of an interaction

For me it’s 3/2 and therefore I like typing and thinking about a case, that’s how I remember Patients and learn

(I admit 1 is important but shd not be mixed with rest)

As a patient I'm in agreement. For me the notes are a record of private communications/conversations I've had with NHS clinical staff, to be passed on as necessary WITHIN the NHS and not outside of it. So I'm 3/2 as well 😊

Yes, indeed, and the thinking and consolidating is a very important thing we must not lose. But, using Heidi or similar to summarise the history doesn’t stop that from happening any more than it did when sending a medical student to do that bit and present the case to you.

I have no issue for AI generated 1 to help make sure we have better payment.

I disagree with using AI generated anything for 2/3 as i think it would be at a loss to me (and therefore patients)

BUT (!) this relies on nhs/streeting recognising the value of 2/3 and not seeing us as factory workers

Doesn't mean we have to consent to it though. Consent is key. I was asked if I consented to Heidi being used in the consult I had with the remote GP (as if Heidi were a third person present, which it sort of is) and I said "Yes". I may not hold that position in future, however.
