Question for querying authors: if these are the only two options, would you prefer:
A) an agent being open to queries for 1 week a month
B) an agent closing to queries for months, and opening for months
(I wish we had polls so I could make this clear cut but please just stick to the 2 options)

I feel like the agent would be swamped each time regardless of opening period (including with AI written books).
Option A would put pressure on the agent to execute all reads within three weeks, which might result in less consideration for each author than the longer (B) closed time would.
Also, fine to close for holidays, life events, etc! Don't be beholden to the schedule!
It is easier to plan for.
It also eliminates the feeling of “I have no idea if/when they’ll ever open again, better send asap!”
It communicates to me that an agent is on top of their workflow, which is a good sign they'll be a reliable business partner
