By far, IMHO the most tolerable alumn of the Bunim-Murray empire is David Giuntoli who went to Hollywood and became a working actor. He did six seasons of Grimm, married Bitsie Tulloch and did not feel compelled to foist his politics on us.

I would say that had media overall treated reality tv differently and there were overall teaching of media literacy for it, it might have actually been beneficial to the current moment. Those of us who watch that way learned a lot about narrative construction and misrepresentation.
