Also I'm going to repeat again: Greenland has for awhile seen aligning at least somewhat with US interests as a way of decoupling from Denmark. In much the way a Trump has even Quebecers waving the Candian Flag, he has Greenlanders
Also: have you been to Greenland? Most of the communities aren't connected by land. It's ferry or plane. You can overland only in the (short) summer really, unless you're very good at dog sledding
