Not sure you meant it this way, but this is one of the most surprisingly optimistic things I’ve read about this. The idea that some of these people are smart in their own way and see a future that wouldn’t be kind to them breaking the law.

I don't know them so I can't weigh in on their morals but it's just very clear that they aren't stupid and they know when this crumbles they are going to have to defend what they did and they don't want to go to jail for no reason
