One way to sell your ticket is via EFC, who give you face value when someone buys your ticket, but charge the buyer an exorbitant amount.

Ticket reselling by EFC is not new. It’ll continue in BM digitally and won’t go away. It’s just that EFC will have the stranglehold on people wanting to buy tickets. I won’t be able to sell my plastic ST to my mate for face value anymore. EFC will sell it to him digitally for a ridiculous amount.

Top tip. Get a spare, cheap smart phone. Only use it for the season ticket. Pass that onto your mate instead. Probably needs NFC.

My girlfriend is a red, she has two phones each with Season ticket on. Cheap phones, bulky yes, but allows her to give family, friends tickets. Not a perfect solution I know but it works.

Sorry disagree! Call me an "old fuddy duddy" (I'm 67) but I DONT want my season ticket on my phone, the same as I DONT want to buy a cuppa on my card. Cash is still legal tender. It's discrimination against "older fans" Maybe that's the "plan" so they don't have to do discounts. So much for loyalty

Physical cards are much easier to deal with, have a big collectors element to them, can be sold as an add on for club revenue, and above all else, don’t exclude the many many people who don’t have smart phones and/or don’t want one from going to watch football.

I couldn’t go last week and the club wouldn’t email me a pdf to send to my son’s mate. I either had to sell to some random via the club resale or buy a physical card for £10. So that options going to disappear too? Seems you can only send to a member not another season ticket holder. Joke!

For me , I prefer it on my phone because I lose everything but my phone in my jeans (plastic+notes) but completely understand.

One thing that is shit is if you sell your ticket (last season) the money goes on your account rather than into your bank, cant do that with a card, give your mate 30 quid.

People prefer physical cards. You ask STH’s and loads will say they’ve got years worth of cards. The will be loads telling the club they haven’t got a phone to scan so need a card 🤷🏻‍♂️

With respect, there was a genuine question asked based on having a friend who doesn’t have a Membership (eg: an Evertonian who has emigrated) use a digital ST. It’s not a case of the ST holder going or not.

I think it's the gradual phasing out of older people as they are not worth as much to clubs.

No concessions, no physical season ticket/reliance on a phone. Reality is, a club can make twice as much money on a normal ticket, than a concession.

That being said, EFC have done pretty well with the move to BMD in my opinion.

Reasonable ticket prices, concessions still available.

Offer a card option, just charge people for it, if they are that arsed. It a tiny bit of work, but you protect your longest serving/most vunerable supporters.

I think clubs these days also want to see how often ST holders aren’t going themselves. They are clamping down on people who get a ST year but never go, and just sell to the highest bidder.

No doubt about it.
It means people can't pass their ticket card on to friends so those friends either have to become a member, at £30 a season, or the club profits the mark up on the resale portal at full price whilst crediting you with 1/19th of the season ticket price
