Every time I cross a road, regardless of whether there is traffic, I press the pedestrian stop button. I do this to maximise the number of pedestrians transport planners thinks there are, and redesign accordingly. I have no clue if this data is collected.

As a society we’ve been making it easier to drive for decades; at the cost of active travel (inc public transport).
Driving needs ‘pushed back’.
My point holds.
I would’ve been of the same view except for having reflected on it.
That doesn’t mean I press the button when passing (and not crossing), but rather I’m done with making motoring less-of-a-burden-on-motorists.
