Y’all … switch to LibreOffice

If you subscribe to Microsoft 365 Personal, the 40% price increase is a con to upsell you AI. Your old plan and price is still there called "Classic" - but only if you try to cancel.

Microsoft should be ashamed if not prosecuted.

It's free to download so you can try it out. I've heard that in their Word and Excel versions therre are a *few* functions that are different. But for my own uses I don't even know what they are.

That's true. The company uses PowerPoint for reports, so that's the format I need to stick with, but I can see if it works and if not then it is what it is.

I'll be honest. I used it and evangelized it years ago--and it was so terrible my family couldn't figure it out, I didn't even like using it. I assume it must be much, much better than it was, say, 10 years ago?

I use a personal desktop copy of 2021 MS Office Pro Plus (still on Windows 10) without going to cloud, and no AI anything.

I used LibreOffice for a while but had to go back.
But I would use that before Google docs.

Gaming on linux has taken a huge leap. That was one of the things that kept me from switching full time. I started using linux when vista was released. Having one machine instead of 2 is great

Yes, LibreOffice & NeoOffice are quite good, although I'm still using Office 2010 because of the language packages I bought.
I dislike monthly subscriptions, so no 365 for me.

I actually like the LibreOffice version of Excel because it’s got some good horsepower for Pivottables
