Kiryu needs to take a back seat role for Ichiban to be the true new main character. I love kiryu but if Ichiban is to be the new face of yakuza, then kiryu needs to step back so Ichiban can truly have a story of his own.

I think CrystAAHHL would have cared about Rikiya more in Yakuza 3 if she had done the substories available when he's with Kiryu in Kamurocho during her playthrough.

I only just finished Yakuza 5 this month so it'll probably be awhile before I actually see this video.

I think they should have stopped having Kiryu appear in the main games post Yakuza 6, I was fine with his role in 7 and i see what they were doing with him in 8 (I’m totally fine with him having his own side games) but i feel like it takes away the torch passing to Ichiban. (Kiryu my fav I’m biased)

5 is needlessly over hated. Yes, it IS very long and has too much padding, but it's also amazing if you just pace yourself and don't rush. I genuinely think most of the hate comes from people who tried to beat it in 3 or 4 sittings and burnt themselves out too fast, so it made them unfairly bitter.

I like Ichiban and Yagami more than Kiryu. That’s not to say I don’t love Kiryu, I just like the others more. I just find him a little too stone faced at times.

Kiryu should have been gone by Y6. Ichi is a much better protagonist to write stories around anyway.

The fandom REALLY gives Majima a big pass for what he did to Park in Y5. From a story point, I like him being depicted as such, a cracked man. But I've seen many fans ignore that part of his history

my hot take is that although 7 was fun and iconic i didnt really enjoy the story, it felt like a prequel to a really amazing game rather than its own great game

this resulted in me really loving 7 Gaiden, i havent finished 8 yet but so far its hooked me way better
