Depressing but sadly not surprising that the @adamsmith.org has pivoted away from genuine liberalism (economic and social) to openly racist xenophobia.
It goes without saying that Adam Smith himself, a genuine liberal, would have been both disgusted and appalled.

Adam Smith wrote "read, write and ACCOUNT" multiple times. He used the word 'education' EIGHTY Times.
His use of the "Invisible Hand" can be counted on ONE FINGER.
What has the London School of Economics said about that?

What a nasty little tinpot racist country the UK is nowadays.
Show me where Smith wrote in favour of that?
In a truly free market it's the individual who has the free choice to whom they sell their labour. And no artificial migration barriers to that.
The observation that states do things antithetical to free markets is a trivial one.
Smith pointed out that in providing obstacles to the function of the free market this is against the economic interest of the whole
Not that I’d necessarily back that as a proposal either.
It seems to me the solution proposed does not align with the claimed problem.
We’ve written numerous papers on drug legalisation, freedom of speech, opposition to a surveillance state, sex work decriminalisation, I can go on.
We’ve published a single paper on immigration in the past year.
What are you talking about, Jonathan?
What, like this? Comical. As I said, you've given up on economics and pivoted to xenophobia/racism (I note you don't deny that)

What's the point in stirring to respond with "it's only the one paper"?
There are a lot of different arguments that can - and have been - made to justify accommodation *that don't dodge the substance* ...
*funders
At least that's what I imagine Smith would say.
Perhaps if Reform win next time we will find out....
That seems to be their plan.
