These snippets give me hope as I venture into writing again:
“No genre ever really dies, there are rises and falls of all niches across time.
Writing the story that calls you is never a bad choice
Every book can find readers.”
I don't believe the AI hype & this take ⬇️ is pure fantasy. AI is a bubble & while it's fair game as a subject matter for fiction, it's not new. Authors have been writing about AI since 1889. A lot of they hype is unrealistic hot-air about a money pit, profitless ponzi scheme waged by techbros.
No fear here. What pisses me off is having my content stolen and used without my consent. And yes, it’s smoke and mirrors, but feeding the monster by theft/plagiarism and then telling the court that if they’d had to pay for it, they wouldn’t have been able to afford it. ??? They can kiss my ass.
Agreed. I suppose I'm trying to dispel the 'its inevitable, lay down and allow the monster to eat you' rhetoric that's being shared in the writing community. I don't care which author influencers say 'its the future', I will not surrender my ethics and belief in human creativity.
Not hearing inevitable in these romance streets. If there are some, they’re being drowned out by howls and curses of outrage. Publisher Berkley came out last week and said, no AI of any kind. Have to applaud them.
