Do you have a problem with the sound of music film? It was a copy of the stage production? Do you have a problem with new casts performing on Broadway?

Different casts and directors do the same play in different ways. They do put a little bit of themselves on it.
And it's not really the same thing. Plays must be done over and over. But a film can be seen exactly the same forever. So why "update it" if you are not going to do something different?
Technically yes? But if that's the only difference, it's not very meaningful.
Like Disney's Beauty and the Beast live action. There's some changes, but most of it it's the same, or referencing what already exists in another movie. At best it's the same experience with a somewhat different visual.
There are some differences, and people have pointed them out, but a lot of it it's the same or self referential. We don't get another take on the tale, just the same thing we already watched.
And that considering that the true intent isn't just nostalgia bait, pretty visuals and a re-release.
