Perhaps...? Still, may be worth a shot.
A few years ago Ig Nobel Prize it was awarded "for inventing a brassiere that, in an emergency, can be quickly converted into a pair of protective face masks".
It had a patent, but not a peer-reviewed publication.

I guess that technically Oh et al is more a matter of spoofing than an actual simulation? As far as I recall, the claim in that paper is that the Oh et al MPS algorithm outperforms the experiments on the benchmarks used in the experimental paper.

Good point. I was just reminded of a paper simulating the Google Sycamore experiment, where they argued that the hardest part was actually accurately simulating the noise 😅.
