That first exchange between Trump and Gov. Mills was so revealing. Mills said “we’ll obey all state and federal laws” and Trump seemed genuinely confused by her answer. He said “Federal—*we’re* federal.” Trump thinks “federal law” is whatever he wants.

Of course he's confused. He genuinely believes his bone headed EOs are federal law, binding on and superseding state laws, BECAUSE HIS ADVISORS KEEP TELLING HIM SO. He is too stupid to understand that they are not laws, and certainly don't supersede State laws. Pesky Constitution!

And if you listen carefully to the insults he responded to Gov Mills with during that little oral sparring match, he started to say something like "I am federal law". Quickly changed it to "we are", but he thinks he's the Sun King, in his tacky gilded golf motel.

He also can't quite get his head around the principle that not all federal laws supersede all state laws. Pesky Constitution again. Pitiful, really, like a slug trying to do calculus. But his advisors know all this, and successfully manipulate him into his destructive behaviors to their own ends.

Democrats excusing themselves from preventing men from intruding into women's spaces because of "the law" which they themselves passed shouldn't garner much sympathy. Especially when it's the Democrats who want to give agencies expansive power to "interpret" laws and requirements.
