It seems to me there is an unhelpful conflation occurring rn b/w pairings of 3 readings of DEI:

1. The fascist/right white supremacist assault

2. The liberal (performative/tokenistic) embrace

3. The left structural critique

We should vehemently oppose position 1 while also recognizing 3 =/= 1
