To be fair, the nice thing that most people like about Bluesky is that there is no algorithm to worry about. Most people just view things chronologically. Although, the site does allow users to make their own algorithms through feeds.

Is that so? I've seen a lot of posts by people that are just a list of topics and things intended purely to make Bluesky's (apparent) algorithm show them more posts related to them.

The Discover tab has an algorithm, but the Following tab is purely chronological. The lack of algorithm is one of Bluesky's biggest selling points over Twitter and over social media.

So, yes it does have an algorithm, but you can easily choose to look at posts without it. Making it more of an option you can simply ignore.
Which, honestly, is a great way to do it. And if you're looking at discovery you likely understand there will be some useless posts

I usually forget about the Discovery tab because unpinning it was the first thing I did, lol. And because it feels like such an afterthought.

But the whole idea of Bluesky is that it's an open source social network that you can install on any domain you want.
