This law is simply a revenue generator for the state and vendors— and I’m sure heavy lobbying by equipment manufacturers. This won’t contribute to safety in any way.

At 90 mph, the reaction distance is approximately 132 feet. This assumes a reaction time of 1.5 seconds, which is a common average for drivers. The total stopping distance at 90 mph, including reaction distance and braking distance, is around 458 feet.
And then what happens on sales? New person gotta pay to take it out?
We have no reason to accept lawless people putting us and our families in danger.
This is a good law.
Vehicle automation systems already do it. For example Tesla full self driving has an 80 mph cap.
