Anticipated a rush of hype, flummery and simplistic prize-targeting as newsrooms were cut down and personal ambitions were stunted. Did not imagine that Wall Street analysts and their demand for cheaper, shittier and more profitable papers would be dwarfed by billionaire publishers to come. My bad.
