Hm, I suppose some autistic people display signs that are more "obvious," but personally when I hear the phrase you can't see autism, it just means that there are many different ways it presents and that one autistic person may be very different than another autistic person.
a) mine was just me trying out a stand up joke on the Internet b) your reply strikes me as correct and since learning of my autism there are things I see people doing that make me go "oh, them. They are."

I think masking also has a lot to do with this. If someone is heavily masking their autism, others may not notice it as much.
And no worries. It's hard to read what a joke is online.
I'm heavily masked to the point that I don't know what I'm doing.
And yeah it has taken me a long time to begin to even start to take the mask off
I masked for so long without even knowing I was doing it because I didn't know about my autism until a few years ago (I'm now 30)
