we've learned SO much about gameplay quality of life over the past 30 years. if they did this in 1994 it would be broken, obtuse, unfair, frustrating
now we know how to merge all these gameplay types into a cohesive narrative experience :)
many many different arcade boards would've been able to do something of this quality, it just wasn't a priority
this thing feels very Metal Slug, only a different franchise
