Same. And for me, completely separate from gender/identity issues on a purely endocrine level it nuked a huge portion of depression and anxiety. I put myself through hell by intermittently quitting HRT just to be sure several times because I didn’t trust it.
Closest thing to a miracle.

After sitting on my RX for two weeks to be certain of my intent, that first injection was liquid relief, palpable and real. The oppressive haze in my mind, formed by constant gender questioning, lifted immediately.

I could finally think clearly, and in that clarity I grasped a future worth living.

Thank you for having a changeable mind. Not all of us have had “family” that bothered to empathize with us.

Ultimately you don’t need a “last straw” to walk away, but the spoiled and entitled way my bio parents handled my transition made it clear that they couldn’t NOT be authoritarians.

I understand why parents struggle. It was a hard adjustment for me. But I realized that whatever was hard for me was way harder for my kid, and they needed someone to walk with them and stand with them.

The amount of physical and mental suffering I have witnessed my in patients when they could not access gender-affirming care is staggering and heartbreaking.
I wish these heartless assholes could experience 1/100th of the amount of joy that HRT can bring someone.

Finally getting on HRT was one of the best sessions I've ever made. I was so depressed and miserable that I did not care about my life; I just ghosted through the day. Now I want to live again. So what I'm saying is the HRT saved my life too

Trans people have something to give… primarily the idea that understanding gender transcends the body, and secondarily that changing the body is very easy compared to changing the brain. Also avoids the murky ethics of brainwashing.

ANY body can receive ANY hormone and it knows the instructions.
