This seems like reason enough to revoke the voting privilege. Wondering if the person picked 10 other players because Ichiro was "safe".

I get it. I just can't understand how someone could review Ichiro's career & say this guy is not a Hall of Fame. But it doesn't matter because Ichiro is a Hall of Famer. Congrats to CC and Billy as well.

And, unfortunately, I think the current system creates situations where it is easy for a writer to not vote for a sure fire when they think someone else might need a boost to get over the line or just stay on the ballot.

I’m not saying leaving Ichiro off is right, but I can understand THAT reason.

People are entitled to vote how they want, but if you're the one voter that doesn't vote for an otherwise unanimous hall of fame, you should be required to write an essay titled, "Why X is NOT Good Enough for the Hall of Fame."

I agree. Also, if they don't want stuff like this to happen, remove the cap on voting for 10 players max. Maybe this guy or gal really wanted to vote for 11 and figured that Ichiro was a shoo-in and didn't want their favorite to fall off the ballot

Demonstraing incompetence is grounds for dismissal in most industries - and let's lift the maximum number of votes to remove the frankly bull spit execuse of "maybe he/she thought Ichiro was a sure thing."
