I've been using Feedly, but I've been thinking about bailing lately. I used Inoreader way back in the day, so I might go back to that. Also, Thunderbird could be a cool possibility, since it's local, and thus less endangered by platform nonsense. Really gotta do some research.

I'm definitely the kind of user who would be using RSS stuff for most of my internet, but my list of places to check is still so small that having an outside service isn't beating "open all bookmarks from folder in tabs".

I do get why local isn't the default, though; obvious gains from caching

We've all been living in algorithm land for a while, with various platforms calculating what to show us for the sake of their own interests. But RSS lets you curate your own slice of the Internet, and that's pretty rad. You can even get RSS feeds for YouTube channels! https://rss.app/rss-feed/create-youtube-rss-feed

I bought one of those lifetime subscriptions to Feedly Pro when they first launched, and so glad that I did. I’ve used daily for 11+ years now. Had no idea that $99 subscription would be such a steal.
