There was some good discussion in the most recent episode of The Line podcast about whether he actually blew a lead or not. *I* think he did and that's hilarious, but there are also several reasonable arguments for keeping him on. (Not that I agree with, I think he lost because he's a loser.)

Like, it's inarguable that the CPC vote share increased. Whether that's because of him or because of the electorate's inertia responding to a historically-unpopular LPC leader is totally up for debate.

Inertia for sure, and a combination of other things, eg in one case the Aaron Gunn situation here on the Island where the vote split between NDP and Liberal won the CPC candidate his seat. That could still be a symptom of LPC unpopularity of course.
