Best political outcome for Dems: House Republican budget plan which requires savaging health care, other programs, passes by one vote, so Dems can run against every House Republican as the key vote.

Small correction, Bill:
Best political outcome for Dems: ..... the GOP budget plan does *not* pass & Dems run on the proof that they can/will save the country from Republican sycophants who want to destroy Democracy & the Constitution!
In the meantime, millions of people like my wife and I, who adopted special needs children, confident that Medicaid would help with hospital costs, will find that that aid has vanished.
“Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”
The Senate passed a different bill. This now goes to a joint committee of the House and Senate to come up with a compromise. There will be another time to defeat the bill.
Thank you. I’m getting ready for bed and I’ve been going to sleep upset, devastated, despairing, raging every night. You’ve made me feel calmer. Let’s put Mike Lawler on top of the list PLEASE!!!!
I don't agree that this would be good for the Dems, politically. Many disenchanted voters would blame them, regardless of the facts. (That's how we got into this mess in the first place.)
If you are right and enough voters wouldn't know to blame Rs, then we are so truly fucked that lol nothing matters. Trust me, I'm not arguing for the sophistication of the average voter, but they blamed Ds because there was a D president.
We are indeed in big trouble, and it is for the very reason that too many low-info voters blame the Dems for things that are invariably due to the Reps. The harsh reality is that the right is far better, and far better funded, at propaganda.
It’s being reported that many Republicans are backing away from doing town halls because of the backlash. That’s a great opportunity for Dems. They should go into red districts and do town halls, knock on doors, engage with local media.
Anyone like that isn’t voting for Democrats under any circumstance. But people who aren’t brainwashed know who is in charge and won’t be happy about this.
I disagree. Look at the results of the 2024 elections. Plenty of people who previously voted Dem either switched to supporting Reps or did not vote at all.
I wouldn't call these people brainwashed, necessarily. More typically, they were kind of low-info voters who were susceptible to disinfo.
This is just a budget resolution. The actual cuts are a lot harder to whip votes for. This is how fucked the Republicans are as a functioning political party.
This and they need to either eliminate DOGE or ensure it comes under congressional oversight. DOGE is a lie. Musk must go due to conflicts of interest.

We told people that real people would suffer if they voted for Trump (or for a third party, or didn't vote at all) and yet here we are.
How about they strip the Medicaid or bucket its in cuts and spread it across other buckets.
