Lewis Carroll's "The Hunting of the Snark" is a poem about a naval expedition. Therefore you (still) can find it in the library of the US Naval Academy. As the illustrations are not by Henry Holiday, no sailor is exposed to graphical ambiguity.

But Lines 3 and 4 in the poem still are ambiguous.
