You need a licensed electrician for 240v work here (more strict than California where I was living).
And then for the solar setup, you need to be accredited.
If the solar work here was so shoddy, surely we'd see that reflected in stats?

5 years ago I self installed this 14kw system for 21k before tax incentives…. That same size system was more than 50k via local installer quotes
U.S. companies often have full-time teams at > costs.
We also have higher wages + labor protections, which can grow costs.
last I checked the approval process in Ontario has like 7-9 steps, and several of those are external veto points
