It is unfortunate that this project is being scrapped, but it's important to note that two other geothermal pilots in the state are moving forward. The one in Framingham is already operational and slated to be expanded with a $7.8 million grant from the DOE.
True. I assume ratepayers would have held the bag for an economically unsustainable and prohibitively expensive project. They're better off reallocating resources to initiatives that offer a more favorable outcome.
