Hi Ted, nice to see you here. You know my views on this - Starmer would like nothing more than to rejoin the EU, as would I. However as was explained to me, until the Tories are pro EU it's unlikely we'll go back in. But give me much closer alignment anyday!

It's not about what they want, it's about recognising that the EU understand that the Tories could get back into power and if they are not pro EU they will just take the UK back out again. That's why it's believed the EU won't take us back until the Tories are pro EU
