A common question is "How do you when something has really passed a peak; maybe it'll rebound".

The answer is that you often don't until many years after!

But trends that are underpinned by structural changes (like the disruption of increasingly cheap electric cars) are much more likely to hold.

It's the cheap EVs that really only started last year that will be the big disruptor. It's quite startling that the success to date has been achieved on largely big tickets items!

Unfortunately, SUV sales are growing year after year, and are expected to keep growing. Some predictions have the 20 million figure in the link growing to as many as +50 million by 2030.
