Maybe we need some sort of department in charge of efficiency in government to put an end to this sort of wanton waste.

I don't think I've ever felt more like burning it all down than I have while witnessing the elite project to turn Zohran Mamdani and Brad Lander into scary, incompetent monsters while turning an actual incompetent monster, Andrew Cuomo, into a merely complicated fellow who just made an oopsie.

A protest sign I liked: "So much wrong, so little cardboard." It captures the hardest part of protesting Trump. How do you pick an issue to focus on when the guy is the worst in my lifetime on pretty much every issue that matters?

It would be so nice to be able to just get on a train and go someplace.

how many Angelenos have been injured by people other than law enforcement so far? are we in double digits? is there even one?

deeply weird doing antidiscrimination training at work knowing that the federal government has completely stopped enforcing anything to do with it (unless you are a white person claiming you have been unfairly targeted for whiteness)

It was obvious, in retrospect, that we needed to track down the "vehicle extended warranty" people and eliminate them. We didn't, and now scammers run the whole country and control most of the communication channels. (s/. Mostly.)

To the contrary, the whole point of an American city is that its residents can't be arrested for actions like waving the wrong flag

Anyone who thought deporting 10% of the population wouldn't mean using false pretenses to deport peaceful, productive, law-abiding family people who live nearby was confused about the composition of the population. It's a good time to notice that and change position.

what people seem to believe is that there is a large number of criminal, layabout immigrants who can be easily found and deported. they support doing so snd are dismayed by the deportation of otherwise law abiding people. the problem is that the criminal group is imaginary!

I game. I also sail (on a very small, old, modest boat, usually not in popular locations). One of these hobbies is somewhat more expensive than the other.

Marshal law is when a Python script scrapes archive.legmt.gov/bills/mca/in... and then serializes the results for download and storage. (That might also be pickle law, depending on the author's preferences)
