I'd go as far as saying that the massive anti-Bush movement overcame the 4-day-dead-fish appeal of the narrow centrist message in order to push dems into office despite the best efforts of their campaign strategists.

It was obvious, in retrospect, that we needed to track down the "vehicle extended warranty" people and eliminate them. We didn't, and now scammers run the whole country and control most of the communication channels. (s/. Mostly.)
