Everyone saying they aren't sure what's happening right now will eventually say, after everyone who sees exactly what's happening has been taken away, that nobody had any idea what was happening.

I think the quiet ones who hide behind their plausible deniability may be the most contemptable of Nazis; they expect the killing to be done for them, and expect everyone to remain friends with them while it's carried out.
I couldn’t agree more. My son’s aunt is still clutching her pearls that I told her off while her two gay sons are already being targeted. I’m enraged on their behalf.
I hear you, but don’t think we need to draw a pyramid of contemptibility. A collective indictment will suffice. Our challenge—and it’s a huge one—is to reject any & all forms of authoritarianism without falling into passive nihilism that obscures a more illuminating path.
