I'll usually stop and pay attention to Tom Nichols, but I think you're right about his recent hobbyhorse (he is the ONLY one who, supposedly, knew we shouldn't use the word "fascist").

He's not just wrong about basically anything requiring judgement, comprehension, or analysis. He's also deeply ignorant about the academic topics in which he's supposedly an expert--including the ones he teaches.
