Sometimes I feel almost quilty when it comes to sharing these sketches, since these aren’t something groundbreakingly ”impressive”. I just sit on the couch and doodle. But I also know that this is my perfectionism talking. Why should I feel quilty for drawing what feels fun and relaxing?
Guilty?? You're providing free art! What a gift! It might help to think about your own feed: when friends + other artists post art, you're probably not picking it apart or thinking it shouldn't be posted, you're probably just thinking "yay, art! cool!" right? People feel the same way about yours ❤️
Oh yeah I never think like this when it comes to the work of other artists. I love seeing sketches of other folks and I do not think one style is any less valuable than another. This is just something that I’ve sometimes struggled with my own work for years due to pressure.
Wanna let you know that this doodle made me smile, I love the expression.
its easy to get caught up in what is "expected" for us to draw, and after a while we stop drawing what's fun. The irony is that people often like the art we enjoy making more.
If anything I think I should just allow myself to be as self-indulgent as possible if it makes me happier and healthier. Yeah I can always aim to do my best but what that looks like depends on the day and I should not feel bad about finding healthy ways to feel better under stress
Also, to be fair, I've noticed that other people don't tend to really realise what's just a quick sketch for me and what took me ages.
I think your sketches look beautiful and I love seeing them, if you hadn't mentioned this I would've thought this piece just as valuable as all the others.
Thanks! Plus what folks consider a sketch varies widely among different artists, so even if I call these sketches they are still rather polished drawings. Experience is also highly valuable, someone might be able to draw fast but then again gaining the skills to do so might have taken them 10 years
I really adore how you let yourself doodle tbh! It's something I really want to embrace again myself because after all - drawing is the joy of creating, relaxing and embracing what makes us such individual artists
Yup joy and having fun is so important! It is sometimes rather easy to get caught up in the idea that one should constantly ”impress” folks especially under pressure, but then again I do think that if you enjoy your artistic process that joy will shine through in your work✨
I can’t tell if it’s digital cause it looks so smooth and tasty like traditional too ahhh this is so freaking amazing 😫🫶🏻💚 love this so much the shading, the shape is so 🤌🏻✨
So distinguished!!! I would love to see more of this Character! It sort of inspires me to want to build some character story about them! (~PS I will actually kill for more of this character)
i love your art style also i get really excited when i see characters with big noses like meee :3 💖 it matters alot to me because not many artists draw big noses too often idk why!
I posted so many half finished or crappy works bellow my actual skill level. Sometimes it is just not the day, sometimes you are done with the piece for a while and plan to revisit it later. Sometimes just sharing it out with people is healing.
Wow it looks so good! I love the anatomy of it. I find it so hard to get the proportions of facial features just right so I love to see such great examples like yours, really inspires me to keep practicing. :D
