Interestingly, APOE e4 may be a rare example of a gene which is both common enough, and conveying significant risk, to warrant more precise thinking for Alzheimer’s (especially earlier onset). But at pop-level for whole dementia syndrome we need to think more about social determinants, I think.

Awesome. US healthcare orgs seem obsessed to go “upstream” with a clinical approach that spends lots in finding at risk people and deploying expensive and intensive interventions people rarely want (or need) while these same orgs can’t meet the needs of those already sick.
