I'm afraid an even bigger issue is that Trump voters (literally the majority of the US now) simply don't care about any of the above. Climate change is simply out of the collective thinking now, and science as a whole will be pushed further to the sidelines in the coming years.

If the US hangs on to fossil fuels its energy costs will start to climb steeply compared with foreign competitors in international & domestic markets. Eg, manufacturing.

Consumers will also loose out.

Renewables are a capitalist phenomenon.
