I know this is difficult to accept, but the social science is clear that our personal carbon footprint has little to do with the most effective way we as individuals can fight climate change, and guilt is not an effective long-term motivator of sustained action.

I am talking change in values about how we encourage and celebrate consumption. Does social science say we can't change our behavior? If so, it's over. Values must change. The challenge is how to catalyze that in a way that will be embraced and reinforce other movement towards sustainability.

I can't find the big modeling paper from last year, but have there been any new big studies on the compounding effect from cloud feedback loops? Especially any data on warming impacting cloud altitude fraction.

Since starting at the UN in 1994, I told everyone there in countless presentations to expect the worst case scenarios forecasted by scientists, which I thought were the least to expect. Now it is too late to avoid those, but not too late for total annihilation. Again I’m in the same position.
