All anyone will remember is the cold 10 days we had this winter & not the consistent 15 to 20 degrees above normal that we’ve had since November. It’s 82 now. Our low is the normal high. I moved back to Central IL, where I lived in the 80's. The winters now have barely any snow accumulation whatsoever. Temps are far above normal now & I'm very concerned about the impact for our country & globally.
It's here hitting us in real time now. Quite frightening actually.

Was thinking similar out and about today in central FL where it is 83. Forecast to hit 85 then 87 midweek next week.

The city pools won’t open for free swim hours until Memorial Day, which used to have a logic to it, but that calendar has long stopped corresponding to weather realities.

Also, the snow storm was a great example of how shifting weather patterns are going to hurt us. Entire area shut down for three days because of three inches of snow.

I'm in Florida too, transplant from cold and snow 2009. Last year was the first year I felt that my body had actually adjusted to Florida weather, but I always looked forward to the "cold" months of January, February and parts of March. Apparently that's over. Something something climate change.

🇨🇦 here, 10 years in Mexico mountains & this is first winter I've haven't worn flannel pjs & socks under down duvet at night & had to turn on the ceiling fans by noon to cool the house off.
Other years, we would light a fire in AM to warm brick house up & wear silk long johns all day.
