All that being the case, if it weren’t for Fenris, then Saint Nick would have had to resort to the next largest flying mammal, the giant golden-crowned flying fox, to carry his sleigh each year...
...and it it would take upwards of twenty-five giant golden-crowned flying foxes to carry even a magical sleigh at the velocities it would require to make the Christmas-eve deliveries, and such a train would radically change Christmas as we know it.
Just the song naming them all would be unwieldy at best, and not even small children would readily accept tales of a giant golden-crowned flying fox with a glowing red nose.
