OK America this is what it looks like

An estimated 100,000 people took to the streets across Slovakia today, protesting against Fico's government and its pro-Russia stance.

Crowds chanted that 'Slovakia belongs in the EU' in one of the largest demonstrations since the 1989 Velvet Revolution.

I think we need to take a hard look at the effectiveness of different forms of protest. This is a marathon. The big marches put people in harm’s way of militarized cops and take a lot of resources. And for what? To get arrested

walking out or calling out of work is more accessible and decentralized

One major challenge we have is logistics. We are almost ≈4mil sq miles of territory here in the US vs the ≈19 Thousand Sq mi of Slovakia…
Where do we gather? D.C.? We can expect the national guard to be brought in now…
I’m in Texas. I can’t get there without great expense and time off work…

This sort of protest isn’t realistic for us…
we came together for the Women’s March. Then, great numbers gathered for the March for Our Lives.
These took months of planning and coordination. Spontaneity - protest like that - especially in my state - would have zero impact.
